You must be able to demonstrate to your chosen allocating agent that:

You are a male between the ages of 18 to 35 or a woman of any age group.

You live in the same area as an Umsobomvu allocating agent (or AA).

Your business is based either in Gauteng or Western Cape province.

You have a clear vision of the business you want to start, as well as realistic goals.

Your business is registered.

If you're already involved in the business and want to grow it, you must own at least 25% of it.

You have experience in your field.
